Welcome
Work Visa checklist
Online application via the foreign portal
You hold a university degree or have completed an apprenticeship that is recognised in Germany and you would like to apply for a work visa or the Blue Card (EU)? Then you can easily apply for your visa online via the Foreign Office's Consular Services Portal (the Blue Card (EU) can only be submitted online). After you have uploaded the application and documents, your information and documents will be checked for completeness and any ambiguities will be clarified with you directly via the online portal. At the subsequent appointment at the diplomatic mission abroad, only your identity will be checked, your biometric data (fingerprints and photo) will be recorded and the fee will be paid.
Apply on site at your diplomatic mission abroad
You can also apply for the visa locally at your diplomatic mission abroad. To do this, prepare the documents and then arrange an appointment. The documents will only be checked for completeness at the appointment. If documents are missing, another appointment at the diplomatic mission may be necessary.
All documents must be submitted in the original and with two sets of photocopies.
The originals will be returned at the end of the procedure.
