On September 9, 2022, German Consul General Weert Börner, who is still in his first month in the country, paid an inaugural visit to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in his office in Ikeja. In a very friendly and concentrated atmosphere, the meeting primarily dealt with questions of the economic, ecological and social development of Lagos as well as the current security situation in Lagos and Nigeria as a whole. Both sides expressed their interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, energy and vocational training.
