The Consul General stated that German companies offer high-quality products and expertise in creating jobs across diverse sectors, which present significant opportunities for economic growth in Abia State. According to Mr. Börner, some German companies are exploring investments in machinery, renewable energies and modern farming techniques that can boost productivity in the agriculture sector in Nigeria. He further stated concrete examples of German companies, active in the environmental sector of Nigeria. Companies already present in Lagos like BASF for chemical recycling or FAUN for waste management, could be expanded to other states, including Abia.

Governor Alex Otti welcomed the German delegation to Abia, highlighting the state’s investment-ready reforms. He told them that, given the ongoing reforms and infrastructural improvements in Abia, there was no better place for investors to capitalize on. He invites investors to Abia, stating that the moment has come to harness the opportunities in manufacturing, SME development, agro-processing and waste recycling in the state. The Governor assured the German delegation of the commitment of his administration to fostering strategic partnerships that would promote industrial and economic development in Abia.

The new progress in the bilateral relationship of Abia State and Germany was also honoured with a dinner hosted by the First Lady of Abia State, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, in the presence of Deputy Governor Ikechukwu Emetu and his wife Adaeze Emetu as well as of Speaker of Abia State Assembly, Hon.
