When is a verification necessary?

In certain cases, we require verification of your documents to establish your identity reliably. This applies particularly if:

• Your documents contain differing details about your identity (e.g., names, dates of birth).
• You have court orders, such as sole custody decisions, divorce decrees, or similar.
• Your marriage was conducted only traditionally or religiously.

How does it work?

You will need to fillout the Questionnaire for document verification and pay the applicable fee. Fees are as follows:
Documents issued in the
Southern states 210,000 Naira
Northern states 280,000 Naira
If you have document from both areas you need to pay: 280.000 Naira

Process Details

Processing time is typically 6–8 months. But may vary
During the process you and your contacts will be interviewed by an investigator.
All your documents will be verified with the competend authorities.

During the investigation period, please refrain from inquiries about the status of your application. Due to the high volume of documents processed by this office, such requests cannot be answered.
